Independence Day at Bringing Smiles.
The 72 nd Republic Day of India saw the usual Parade with fanfare, albeit some restrictions, along the Rajpath. Most RWAs and colonies saw our tri-color balloons and festoons with brightly dressed neighborhood children and adults among the fluttering of the Tri-colour, assembled in nearby parks.
A small neighborhood park in Sushant Lok had a different celebration. It was a Celebration of Independence for nine differently abled persons who till now lived a life of dependence and despondence.
Nine (9)Tricycles with GI boxes were handed over, to them, for whom it may prove to be a life changing moment. The tricycle will enable each one of them movement without hindrance, and the GI box will secure the goods to be vended which they hope give will them a life of self sufficiency. So do lookout for these bright yellow rickshaws which may surprise you in Gurgaon 's market corners and street light intersections selling socks, handerkerchiefs, masks, light packaged and branded snacks, toffees and chocolates. One of them could be Sunil Kumar or Govind Singh.
This Bringing Smiles initiative is a pointer to those of us who truly want to contribute to liberate those persons whom life has not been kind to.
